mini maxi

jacket - levis vintage
sweater - vintage
maxi skirt - harajuku mini x target
boots - gap

this past week has been great.  work has been mellow so bella and i gettin in a lot of qt.  a lot of long walks, playgrounds and projects.  we have a fun little sewing project that we're working on.  i just made a skirt pattern for bella.  i forgot how much she loves maxi skirts.  she had a bunch when she was 3.  she can still squeeze into one of them, but it isn't much of a maxi anymore.  the skirt she's wearing is harajuku mini.  it's nice and lightweight.  underneath are these seriously rad boots from gap.  it was a present from grandma.  she's been wearing them almost everyday since christmas.  her sweater is something i picked up from the american apparel warehouse sale a couple months back.  it's' so hard to maintain her knit sweaters.  i found a huge hole on her arm and a few smaller holes elsewhere.  oops!

these photos were taken with an iphone 4s.  i'm pretty pleased with the picture quality, especially since i don't always carry the dslr around.  oh, and my fellow instagrammers, follow us - @goldengrey

happy last friday of 2011!

i just wanna be fancy

jacket - vintage levis
sweater - vintage
buffalo plaid button-down - cherokee
jeans - earnest sewn
moccassins - thrifted
hair clip - handmade

i hope you all had a wonderful holiday.  we spent it in my hometown, vallejo.  it's always nice to go back to where it all began.  my family celebrates christmas on christmas eve. when we were kids, we used to stay up till midnight and open all of our presents.  30 years and 11 kids later, we still doing the same thing.  bella scored some really cool gifts this year.  most notable is her drum set from grandma and an etch-a-sketch from santa.

these photos were taken in front of a neighbor's house and at the tom & jerry christmas tree on 21st street.  if you're ever in SF during the holidays it's definitely a place to check out.....especially if you have kids.

bella's dressed like her dad in this post.  she added the clip to be more fancy.  one day, we were getting ready to take the train downtown. she asked if she can wear her minnie mouse shoes that grandma got her.  i told her to no since we'll be walking alot.  she turned to her dad said, "but daddy, i just wanna be fancy".

leaving you with some outtakes :)

i submitted bella's photo to a children's style site, minihipster.com.  they published her photo a couple of days ago.  when i showed her the page, her reaction was  - "so is everyone going to see me?", with a big ole smile on her face.  she's not an attention seeker, but certainly enjoys the attention.  her post can be found here.

relaunched

hi there!  my name is jo anne and this blog is called adoraB (adore-a-bee).  adoraB is a project that will feature my daughter adorabella, stylish kiddos/mothers/fathers and anything/everything children's fashion (we have a few fun posts on tumblr that will probably make its way on here).  i love dressing-up and coming up with random looks, but it's especially fun playing dress-up with my daughter :)  i find her to be such an inspiration.  i hope you walk away with some too.

the photo posted was taken when adorabella was 2 1/2 (she's now 5!)  i love her sweater and sandals.   they were both handmade.  we found them while thrifting in the bay area.  the old faves go in the 'treasure box'.  we're hoping to have another child in the near.  if it's a girl, she'll have a bunch of hand-me-downs waiting for her ;)

looking forward to blogging with you.

xx,
jo anne
